Who is the crochet addict behind Handmade Lanzarote?
My name is Eva and I am originally from Bulgaria. I have now lived more than 3 years in Lanzarote and I have really enjoyed my time here. There are various inspirations for Handmade Lanzarote – Lanzarote itself of course, my love for the underwater world and the joy of making creations out of wool!
As an avid scuba diver, I came in 2018 to Lanzarote just to visit the Atlantic Museum and my intention was nothing more than spend a holiday in Lanzarote. As someone who spent nearly 10 years living out of a suitcase, I didn’t expect to fall in love with Lanzarote so much. Not only did I stay, but I made Lanzarote my home with my community of friends, shared interests and incredible experiences.
Diver since 2014, I am currently a scuba diving instructor teaching in Pura Vida Lanzarote Diving. Right from the beginning of my scuba journey I knew I wanted to teach it – when I say right from the beginning I mean my Open Water day 3. Since then I have spend more than 1, 000 hours and 1, 500 dives underwater teaching courses and introducing more people to the incredible underwater world.
Crochet & knitting both have been something I have wanted to try for ages as I found fascinating how many things my grandma used to create just with her hands and a bit of wool! Once I tried crochet and creating amigurumis I realised the process is not only fun, but it is also very satisfying. And then seeing the happy faces of the people receiving the handmade gifts I made is invaluable.
Handmade Lanzarote is the place to keep track of my crochet adventures and share my little part of love and consideration for our oceans and environment through the crochet gifts created.
